Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, and Hunting Information

Agriculture has been the root cause for development of civilizations and trade. Broad classification of agriculture would have two main streams. One that deals with plants and the other that deals with animals.

The agricultural stream can be further divided into domains based on the type of plant, study, food, resource and even techniques. The domains that come under this include forestry (study of trees as in forest and plantations), industrial, organic, sustainable agriculture, agronomy, plant breeding, pests, pesticides and fertilizers.

The animal stream deals with the study of members of the animal kingdom. It is further broken down into domains that focus on animals as a part of the environmental balance system (wild and domestic) or as a source of food both commercial and domestic. This also includes domains like animal husbandry, veterinary sciences and fisheries.

The career opportunities in the Agriculture field are bright although limited. This is because it is a field that involves passion, patience, years of study, research and development

The domains that deal with agriculture as commerce find greater importance as compared to those that study animals and plants for ecological purposes. There are several universities in the world that offer courses both general and specialized in the various streams of agriculture.
